🔥 Hier Sit Die Manne… en hierdie keer sit CHIMBRO saam!
From humble beginnings to big braai dreams – meet Chris and Michelle Kampfert, the people behind Chimbro Iron Worxs.
Every great South African story starts somewhere. Sometimes around a braai, sometimes over a cup of coffee, and sometimes with an idea that refuses to leave you alone!
For Chris and Michelle Kampfert, that story is Chimbro Iron Worxs.
And recently, we had the fantastic opportunity to sit down with the team from Hier Sit Die Manne to share a little more about who we are, where we came from, and what makes our company tick.
Because behind every Chimbro braai, there's a story. And no, it's not just about how many steaks you can fit on the grid!
Meet the people behind the steel!
Behind Chimbro Iron Worxs are Chris and Michelle Kampfert, two people with a shared vision and a passion for building something they can be proud of.
Like any business journey, ours has been about learning, adapting, overcoming challenges, and constantly finding ways to improve.
Building a business isn't always glamorous. There are long days, difficult decisions, and moments when you wonder whether there are actually enough hours in a day.
But then you see a finished product leaving the workshop, knowing the hard work that went into it, and suddenly it all makes sense.
For us, Chimbro has never been about simply manufacturing another braai.
It's about creating something special.
So, what makes Chimbro different?
Well, we're glad you asked!
We believe a braai should be more than just a metal box with a fire underneath it.
It should be functional, beautifully crafted, built to last, and, most importantly, make the person standing behind it feel like the undisputed Braai Master!
From our signature Glide Master roll-up systems to our custom-built stainless steel braais, we take pride in creating products that combine practical design with quality craftsmanship.
And because no two braai areas are exactly alike, custom manufacturing is a big part of what we do.
We don't believe every customer should have to settle for the same standard solution.
After all, some people want a simple weekend braai, while others want a setup that makes their neighbours seriously reconsider their life choices!
And we love both.
More than a business. It's our passion.
One of the things we enjoyed about our interview with Hier Sit Die Manne was having the opportunity to talk about the journey behind the brand.
Customers often see the finished product, but they don't always see the people, the planning, the challenges, or the dedication that happens behind the scenes.
Every order represents more than a sale.
It represents someone trusting us to manufacture something for their home, their entertainment area, or their next big family gathering.
And that's something we don't take lightly.
We are incredibly proud of what Chimbro Iron Worxs represents: South African craftsmanship, determination, and the belief that there is always room to do things better.
Because if there's one thing we know, it's that you don't build a great business overnight. Just like a proper braai, it takes time, patience, and knowing when to turn up the heat!

A special thank you to the team at Hier Sit Die Manne for giving us the opportunity to share our story.
And, of course, to every customer who has supported Chimbro Iron Worxs along the way.
Whether you've purchased one of our braais, recommended us to a friend, or simply followed our journey, you're part of the Chimbro story.
We're excited about what the future holds, and we look forward to bringing even more proudly South African craftsmanship to braai areas across the country.
Until then, keep the fires burning, the meat turning, and the good times rolling!
